~We Are Mirrors to the Soul~

We are mirrors to people.

People see broken parts of themselves through us.

Broken parts of themselves that they do not want to see..

are not ready see…

are too afraid to see.

And we just stand there more times than not.

Most people turn and look the other way…

because what they must face in themselves…

is not what they want to see.

Some don’t.

Some know what they may see…

and need time to prepare…

as only the most courageous of souls…

can truly face themselves in this way.

Without us around…

They will not have to face what they do not want see.

Some people return for a second look.

Some don’t.

Most don’t.

We are also mirrors for the beautifully broken parts that people see.

Which for many…

are parts they fear seeing more than anything else.

Perhaps the people you choose to…

“love”

are not ready…

are not brave enough…
to see themselves as you see them to be .

Perhaps that will work for them.

They will continue living a shadow of who they really are.

Sometimes seeing a life lived as this shadow…

is incredibly painful for people like us to see.

We see pain behind anger.

We see love behind self doubt.

We see fear behind self-destruction.

We see vulnerability behind arrogance.

We see people for who they are…

why they are…

what they are…
which is what this gift is all about.

It is not that we know better…

or know better than they…

or that we are right…

We see people differently.

We see them not as they act…

not as they say…

not as they do…

which are all parts of them that are true…

We see behind all all of that.

We see behind the masks they wear.

We see them for who they are.

We see people for
who they are…

why they are…

what they are…

which is what this gift is all about.

When they face this mirror we create…

it changes them.

How long and if they choose to stay…

or if they dare return for another look…

is never a choice for us to make.
